Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Items with weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to a stronger base. Items with bases that are strong, such as Titans from eth, have no changes in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot gathered by enemies or obtained from chests and missions. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be at a certain level before they can be upgraded.
To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, players will have to select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.
There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of the names of items. In the case of upgrades for gathering tools when a player swaps one glyph by another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, except for inscriptions which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few items and maximize the impact of these items rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.
This allows the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it will reset to zero after failure or increases if the upgrade is successful.
When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its maximum level it can be eligible to receive affixes that will enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's type. For example an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a base that is standard will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade step will require an amount of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC gives players the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set or upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower rate of success.
To measure the height of a building engineers use a level to compare the measurement with a known reference point like a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a vital aspect of the game and can significantly increase the strength of an item and damage as well as other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the menu for items or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be handled with care.
Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or an item of the same type. Recyclable items come with an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.
In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you would get the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for each stat. This can be a great or a bad thing, dependent on your needs and expectations from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special, fixed-value bonus that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the better chances of obtaining the bonus of your choice.
item upgrade features various sets which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is a good method to give an individual character more power without spending a lot of money.
Many players reroll their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character faster, which allows you to progress in the game and achieve higher tiers.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be set up in different ways. They can be of different dimensions, have none of the elements, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They also aid in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways such as size and shape.
There are a range of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that offer high defense and set bonuses. However, weapon upgrades often don't improve the item's stats much in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already extensive.
Set items can be upgraded to include unique functions that are beneficial for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).
Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items up to the level of the tiers. For instance the Immortal King set has a large level range, from 29 to 76. Upgrading lower-level set items can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button in the character screen. The attributes of the item will be displayed together with any required items. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.
In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when they are updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will bring about a significant improvement in their performance. This will also increase the defense of armor with an updated look.
